To commemorate 30 years of Captain Skyhawk, a bench featuring his bronze statue will be placed near the Boling University Center.
The Skyhawk Bench will be a signature part of campus, where students, alumni, and visitors alike can capture a snapshot of their experience at UT Martin. Prospective students can capture their first visit with a photo next to Captain. Graduates can pose in their cap and gown. Alumni will come back in future years and remember their first picture with Captain as they reminisce about their time at UTM.
Any donor who makes a gift towards the bench will be acknowledged on the UTM Alumni website. A sign will be placed near the statue in the first year after unveiling to direct visitors to view the list of donors who made the project possible.
Donors who make a gift of $125 or more will be invited to attend the statue unveiling during the 125th UT Martin Anniversary Celebration.
